Managing crises

How to reduce crises

  1. Use effective diary planning to pre-empt problems.
  2. Be decisive, don’t leave things to the last minute.
  3. Focus on your key objectives; don’t get side tracked by urgent but relatively unimportant tasks or problems.
  4. Remember that things normally take longer than you think; allow for this when planning.
  5. What do you want to achieve? What are your expectations?
  • What will happen if you don’t tackle the issue sooner?
  • What are the steps involved in clearing the issue from your to do list??
  • What is the first step or decision you must take?
  • Start actioning matters today!

6. Problem solving:

  • First define the problem, not the answer.
  • Emphasize your key objectives in addressing the problem.
  • List all the possible solutions, be radical and creative in your thinking.
  • Identify the resources available to you.
  • Select the most suitable solution.
  • Implement the solution.
  • Review the results.
